Illustrations Done By Hand
Most of my illustration work is done on the computer now. Clients generally prefer it and it is easier for me to make revisions. The reproduction quality can be better as well since it doesn't have to be photographed or scanned. That having been said, a certain look and feel as well as a certain amount of soul is lost by using the computer all the time. Here are some examples of works I've done by hand over the years.
This is an oil painting.
This is an oil painting for a book cover. The individual in the painting was a spree killer.
This is an oil painting based on a photo shot by my friend, the late Wes Skiles.
This is an oil painting I did for practice. I wanted to show how I imagined the first Spanish explorers must have reacted to what they experienced.
This is an oil painting. Actually most of this painting is acrylic but I used some oils at the end so technically that makes it an oil painting. I tried to stick to just using a palette knife, but in the end I used brushes a lot.
