This illustration is to be used on a food truck. The client wanted a rough, hand drawn look but in color. Since it was going to be blown up very big I decided to make it vector based. I used a lot of intricate, realistic looking brushes. It made the file very heavy by the time I was done. It worked fine but I think this was about the limit of that technique as far as volume of brush strokes goes. This character is part of a set of branded illustration assets.
