This utility box is located at the intersection of Pembroke Road and 72nd Avenue on the northwest corner. Positioned near North Perry Airport, the illustration references aviation history and the spirit of flight that has shaped the surrounding area for decades. Projects like this demonstrate how custom illustration and vinyl wrap design can honor local history, strengthen municipal branding, and bring meaningful storytelling into everyday public spaces.

This illustration is part of a citywide series of custom vinyl wrap designs created for the City of Pembroke Pines, Florida. The program transforms standard utility boxes into engaging public art installations placed at major intersections throughout the city. This particular artwork serves as a visual tribute to the neighboring North Perry Airport and its long history as an important aviation hub for the region, recognizing its role in local transportation, pilot training, and community development.

Each project begins with an on site visit to document the exact dimensions and physical details of the utility box. From there, I create a scaled projection drawing along with a three dimensional model in SketchUp to ensure the illustration wraps accurately around all sides of the structure. This process allows the artwork to flow cleanly across corners, doors, and panels, resulting in a cohesive composition that reads clearly from multiple viewing angles. Careful planning at this stage is essential for producing professional, installation ready vinyl wrap artwork.
