Design of a Brochure
Graphic Designer: John Potter - Escape Key Graphics
Client: Country Inn Pet Resort & Animal Hospital

About the Client
Country Inn Pet Resort & Animal Hospital is family owned and operated. Their mission is simple. Provide the best home away from home experience for your pet. It is the kind of place where animals are treated like guests, not just boarded.
The Project
This was a straightforward brochure project. The client supplied the graphics and text, and my job was to arrange everything into a clean, professional layout. The client was new to this kind of work, so heavy guidance was necessary. That is fine. Part of what I do is help people through the parts they have not done before.
My Design Approach
I started by looking for unifying elements. The client's logo gave me two things to work with. A use of borders and a set of colors that could carry through the whole piece. I used those as the foundation.
The gold frames from the logo became a way to contain each fold of the brochure. That gave the whole piece a consistent structure. I matched the fonts to what the logo used, so everything felt like it belonged together.
Some of the photography is used as subtle background accents rather than primary images. I tinted those photos monochrome so they would recede and let the text and main images do the work. The layout ended up with a kind of checkerboard rhythm. Dark text on light backgrounds alternates with reverse text on dark backgrounds. That keeps the eye moving and makes each panel distinct while still feeling like part of a whole.
