Treasure Cay Beach, Marina & Golf Resort Projects
In 2017, I was contracted by the team at Treasure Cay Beach, Marina & Golf Resort in the Abaco Islands to create an overview map of their property. That single assignment grew into a much larger and more rewarding collaboration.
What started as one map quickly evolved into three, each with a distinct purpose. The first was a detailed three dimensional illustrated map. It became the primary resource for guest wayfinding and was used heavily in their marketing. The second was a suite map designed as a handout for arriving guests. Its job was to help people quickly locate their accommodations and get a fast overview of all the facilities. The third map was a practical overhead view of the marina with every slip clearly numbered. This served a dual purpose: it helped boaters find their assigned slip and worked as a management tool for the marina staff, displayed proudly on a sign just outside the office. Later new projects included illustrated layouts of the guest suites.
A Place Remembered Fondly
Treasure Cay was a wonderful place to work with. The staff and management were top notch, and every step of the collaboration was a genuine pleasure. Sadly, the resort sustained unrecoverable damage from Hurricane Dorian in 2019. It now exists only in the fond memories of the many guests who visited and the people lucky enough to work there.
