I am proud to have contributed to the launch of the San Diego International Boat Show, which took place June 20 through 23, 2024 at Safe Harbor Sunroad. The event featured both in water and on land exhibitions, along with live entertainment, hospitality areas, and interactive experiences that brought together boating enthusiasts, industry professionals, and the local community.

I was commissioned to create an illustrated event map designed to help attendees, exhibitors, and staff navigate the venue with ease. The site’s irregular footprint presented a unique design challenge, but it also created valuable open space that could be used effectively for exhibitor listings and key informational areas. The map is primarily an overhead view for clarity, enhanced with refined textures, realistic shadows, and subtle illustrative details. This approach results in a polished, professional look that supports both wayfinding and event marketing.

Navigation is simplified through the use of color coded exhibitor zones, allowing visitors to quickly understand how the show is organized. Major destinations such as VIP parking areas and featured lounges are clearly numbered for fast reference. Essential amenities, including restrooms, ticketing, and food vendors, are represented with clean, recognizable icons to ensure the map is intuitive even for first time visitors. The venue was constructed as a flexible virtual model, making it easy to update layouts, adjust details, or revise perspectives for future shows without rebuilding the artwork from scratch.

This illustrated map blends practical function with elevated design, helping guests orient themselves quickly while reinforcing the high quality experience of the San Diego International Boat Show. It serves as both a navigational tool and a visual asset that supports branding, communication, and overall event success.
