Client: The Catamaran Company

About The Catamaran Company
The Catamaran Company is the worldwide leader in all things catamarans. They specialize in sales of new and pre owned vessels, as well as charter services for both bareboat and crewed trips. They operate primarily out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a base in Tortola, BVI that handles most of the charter business. Through their various satellite companies, they also provide closing paperwork, catamaran service and maintenance, purchase for charter programs, marina operations in multiple locations, and more. If it involves a catamaran, they probably do it.
My Full Time Work There
I worked full time as a graphic designer and web designer for The Catamaran Company from 2003 to 2008. It was the last company I worked for full time before starting my own studio. This was not my first experience in the marine industry having functioned as full time Art Director at BUC International, but this was a deeper dive into the industry and a valuable learning experience.
This Project
While I was at The Catamaran Company, I was tasked with creating fact sheets for their bareboat charter fleet. A bareboat charter is when you rent the boat without a crew, or you hire your own captain separately, rather than purchasing the full luxury experience of a crewed charter. It is a different way to travel, and it appeals to a specific kind of customer.
The company's fleet consisted primarily of a select few catamaran models and configurations of those models. That made fact sheets for those specific vessels a handy marketing tool. Instead of creating a new brochure for every boat, we could hand a customer a sheet with all the specs for the model they were interested in. Clean, efficient, and repeatable.
These sheets were used in print and online. They also pulled double duty as ads sometimes. A well designed fact sheet can work as a standalone piece if you need it to.
Your Project
If you need fact sheets, brochures, or any other marketing materials for the marine industry, contact me. I know this world from the inside and I would be glad to put that experience to work for you.
