Great Blue Resorts was one of my primary clients for a number of years. I created illustrated maps for many of the resort properties they owned or represented across Ontario. The map shown here is for Shamrock Bay Resort in Severn Bridge, ON. They call it "Your Gateway to Muskoka".
Shamrock Bay Resort features boating, fishing, laying on the beach, or kayaking and canoeing. The resort also features a marina, with direct access to Sparrow Lake and the Trent Waterways, while being only moments from the resort cottages.
My approach for these projects was similar. Provide a clear overview of the property and use graphical icons to mark facilities guests actually need. Dining, recreation, parking. Everything in one place, easy to find at a glance.
This particular map features cottage numbers and some spot illustrations.
