This animated illustration was created as a speculative portfolio piece for potential clients in the yachting industry. Boat show seasons often bring last minute requests for engaging visuals under very tight deadlines. Having pre developed artwork available provides a practical starting point for these fast paced projects.

The concept takes a lighthearted, caricatured look at a classic boat show scene. The illustration focuses on the social atmosphere, highlighting recognizable character types like the enthusiastic gear enthusiast and the glamorous attendee, complete with a meticulously groomed dog. The style is intentionally whimsical and exaggerated to capture a specific mood and sense of humor.

I developed the artwork entirely as a vector illustration in Adobe Illustrator, beginning with character sketches and progressing to a full compositional layout. During the illustration process, I planned for animation by carefully organizing the digital layers. This preparation allowed me to efficiently import the artwork into Adobe After Effects to create a short, looping motion graphic.

The animation adds personality and depth to the static scene. Subtle movements bring the characters to life: figures shift and gesture, the dog bobs aloofly, and environmental elements like flags gain gentle motion. This motion design transforms the illustration into an engaging asset suitable for digital displays, social media promotion, or website content.

While the specific caricatured style may not suit every client's needs, this piece demonstrates my ability to develop a complete narrative concept and execute it across both static and animated formats. It serves as an example of the ready to use or easily adaptable creative solutions I can provide for events and industries requiring timely, eye catching visuals.
