Global Marine Travel uses this map to guide their VIP guests to their exclusive lounge area at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This particular map focuses on the Superyacht Village location, but the project actually covers two spots.
For the 2025 show, I worked with Global Marine Travel once again to create maps for both Oasis Lounge locations. One is at the Swimming Hall of Fame, and the other is here at the Superyacht Village at Pier Sixty Six South. I have been making these maps for them for several years now, and the Oasis Lounge has become a regular part of my FLIBS workload.
What the Oasis Lounge Offers
The Oasis Lounge serves as the Official Hospitality Lounge for Superyacht Captains and Crew. It offers gourmet boxed lunches, a fully stocked bar, live music, Wi Fi, and streaming of live sports. It is a place to relax, refuel, and connect with others in the industry. Having two locations means more crew can access the amenities without traveling too far from their work.
Building on Previous Years
My process for these maps stays consistent from year to year. I start with the same three dimensional digital model of the show grounds that I maintain for all the official FLIBS maps. For Global Marine Travel, I render that model from an angle that works best for their specific needs. Then I add custom branding and labeling to make the map theirs.
The 2025 maps follow the same approach I have used since we started working together. The locations shift sometimes, and the show layout changes annually, but the method holds up.
How the Maps Are Made
As you may know, I create the official maps for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and most other major boat shows in the United States. All of those maps are based on three dimensional digital models of each venue. I keep these models on file and update them every year with new dock layouts, exhibitor locations, and supporting information.
The same methods I use for the official maps can also produce zoomed in views of specific areas or renderings from completely different angles. That means I can create a highly customized map with your own branding, tailored to your specific marketing and wayfinding goals. That is exactly what these Oasis Lounge maps represent. Customized, personalized, branded pieces designed for one client's unique needs.
For this project, Global Marine Travel wanted their areas of the boat show shown from a different perspective than the main map uses. I added custom styling, labeled everything for their audience, and included surrounding context that does not appear on the official show map. The result is a map that serves their guests and no one else's.
What You Can Get
If you need a map showing the location of your booth, dock, or exhibit space at any of the shows I work on, contact me. A custom map can give you much more than just a zoomed in version of the main show map, although simple zoomed versions are also available if that is all you need. I can provide a different look and feel, render the venue from angles that highlight your space, and focus on exactly what matters to your clients.
