Portrait painting (oils on canvas)
Artist, Illustrator: John Potter - Escape Key Graphics

I painted this portrait of my daughter and her dog. Oil on canvas. The dog is never far from her side. I wanted to capture that particular quiet between them.
The composition is simple. Two figures, close together, both relaxed. Their attention seems to be on the viewer. It is not a formal portrait with stiff poses and studio lighting. It is just them being themselves.
This is the kind of work I enjoy most. A portrait that feels like a moment rather than a sitting. If you are considering a portrait of your own child, your family, or a beloved pet, contact me. I work in oils and acrylics.
