Work for Revel Republic
Based in Southern California, Revel Republic is an experiential creative agency. Their focus is on crafting one of a kind experiences and building real connections between brands and audiences in ways that stick. They work on events beyond the boat show and yachting industry too, but that is where our paths crossed.
My Approach to Their Shows
I handle Revel Republic's shows much the same way I handle the others I work on. The process starts with building a three dimensional digital model of the venue. From there I render it, then move into Photoshop for refinement and retouching. Final graphics like map keys and logo placements come together in Adobe Illustrator.
Revel Republic tends to prefer a steeper angle on their maps, almost looking straight down, more than some of my other clients do. That preference does not affect my process in any negative way. It is just another set of parameters to work with, and I enjoy the variation.
Expanding My Reach
Working with Revel Republic has been a great experience on a personal level too. Through them I created my first west coast boat show maps and my first Chicago boat show maps. Those are two markets I have wanted to enter for a long time. I look forward to working with the Revel Republic team for many years to come.
