This illustration is part of an ongoing series of custom vinyl wrap designs created for the City of Pembroke Pines, Florida. The program focuses on transforming ordinary utility boxes into visually engaging public art installations placed at prominent intersections throughout the city. This wilderness themed illustration reflects South Florida’s connection to natural landscapes and outdoor environments, adding depth and character to the surrounding streetscape.
Each project begins with an on site visit to document the exact dimensions and structural details of the utility box. I produce a scaled projection drawing along with a three dimensional model in SketchUp to accurately visualize how the illustration will wrap around all sides of the structure. This process ensures the artwork flows seamlessly across corners and panels, resulting in a cohesive composition that remains legible and balanced from multiple viewpoints.
This particular wilderness illustration is located at the intersection of Sheridan Street and 184th Avenue in Pembroke Pines, Florida on the southeast corner. Designed for a high visibility location, the artwork emphasizes clarity, color, and narrative impact. Projects like this demonstrate how custom illustration and vinyl wrap design can elevate municipal infrastructure, strengthen community identity, and bring themes of nature and conservation into everyday public spaces.
