Contemporary Style Painting (oils on stretched linen 36"X52")
Artist: John Potter

This painting fits into a series of paintings exploring the use of custom linear halftones I have been working on.
I have been wanting to paint a macaw in flight with lots of motion for a while. That idea for subject matter was in the back of my mind when I posed a challenge to myself to make a very colorful painting using techniques I’ve been developing recently.
This painting originally was to be similar to my recent previous work with linear halftones functioning as the dark or light part of the painting. In this case the dark and light were to be multiple colors.
