Brutalism 01 and 02 (acrylic on stretched linen - 28"X60" each)
Artist: John Potter

These paintings fit into a series of paintings exploring the use of custom linear halftones I have been working on.
These two paintings utilize the skills I use on most days making maps and technical illustrations for clients. That was the initial underlying goal for these works of art. I also wanted to take the opportunity to experiment with materials some. I used Musou Black for the first time and absolutely love it. These paintings can only be fully appreciated in person due to the different textures and sheens as well as the way some parts wrap around the edges. These works are objets d'art as well as paintings.
