Illustrated Site Plan for Guests
Client: National Marine Manufacturers Association
This illustrated map was created for Strictly Sail Miami in 2013 and depicts the event venue at Miamarina at Bayside in downtown Miami, Florida. The map was designed to support clear navigation while also reflecting the character and visual identity of the surrounding area.
An isometric perspective was used to show the marina, docks, and surrounding features in a way that feels spatially intuitive and easy to understand. The color palette was selected to suit the coastal South Florida setting, and subtle Art Deco influences were incorporated to echo Miami’s architectural heritage and design culture. This combination of accuracy and style helps the map function as both a practical wayfinding tool and a visually engaging piece.
Individual docks are clearly labeled, allowing boaters and exhibitors to quickly locate their assigned areas. Key destinations and amenities are identified using a numbered system marked with yellow dots, which correspond to a simple legend for fast reference. The result is a clean, approachable map that balances usability with a strong sense of place, making it well suited for event programs, signage, and promotional materials.
