This map for the Miami Beach Convention Center was updated from the previous year's design, with modifications primarily focused on current exhibitor spaces and numbering. This continuity is a testament to the map's solid foundational design, allowing returning attendees to benefit from a sense of familiarity and intuitive navigation.
A notable design change this year was the removal of the inset map that previously provided a broader geographic overview. This decision allowed for a clearer focus on the convention center itself, while two points of interest located just outside the map's boundaries were now relegated to the Pride Park Map.
The explanatory information was also reorganized for improved clarity. The guide detailing shuttle routes was separated from the main map key. The map legend itself was dedicated to explaining the color coding for exhibitor zones, listing key points of interest, and providing a key for the graphical icons used throughout the illustration.
It is important to remember that maps like this serve a dual purpose. Beyond being an essential onsite wayfinding tool, they are also highly effective for pre event marketing. Instead of relying solely on generic lifestyle photography or abstract graphics, providing a visually appealing and informative map offers potential attendees actual, actionable information. This approach builds anticipation and practical understanding well before the event begins.
